The volume of exports is estimated at 3-5 million kilos for the first year. Products exported to South Korea will be chicken legs, wings and feet. Chicken meat is from HKScan’s Rauma unit, which has invested in growth in recent years, also with a view to exports. Our Rauma unit has received an export approval from the South Korean authorities.

Finnish chicken meat is unique by global standards. Meat is responsibly produced and antibiotic-free. In Finland, the animal disease situation is excellent and animal welfare and environmental efficiency of production are taken into account at all stages.

“The export licence is a concrete proof of the high quality of Finnish meat. The Finnish authorities have been very supportive of the domestic food industry’s export efforts. My warmest thanks go to all those who have been involved in making this happen,” says Jari Leija, HKScan’s EVP Business Unit Finland.
