During this year, the word Inspired has had a special meaning at HKScan. International trainee program "Inspired", offers trainees the opportunity to develop new skills while working with well-known brands.

"Definitely, there is a strong connection with the word inspired and our new trainee program. Trainees bring in fresh viewpoints and added value to our versatile functions, that is indeed inspiring, Hanna Karppinen, Head of Talent Management says.

The ”Inspired” program offers a potential two-summer traineeship to 12 young university students, with trainee positions in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia. This summer trainees worked in finance, legal, product development, supply chain management, sales and marketing as well as producer services. Next summer the trainees will have the opportunity to gain international experience by working in HKScan units abroad. Final thesis is an integral part of the program as well as working part time during the studies.

"I know now better what I want in the future"

The Baltics Finance and Controlling trainee Hardi Veske says that he has learned a lot about topics that he thought he would never be in touch with.

"This opportunity has brought me a substantial amount of practical experience. Now I have a better understanding of what it’s actually like to work in the finance field for an international company", Hardi says.

Supply Chain trainee Sofie Hazell from Sweden thinks, that the greatest things have been the amount of time and care HKScan has invested in her personal and professional development.

"Managing my own project has been a great learning experience that has challenged me in many ways and helped me to develop both my personal and professional skills! I have enjoyed the combination of analyzing data and talking to a lot of interesting, talented people."

Finnish product development trainee, Maija Jaakkola, says that she really has enjoyed her summer in the product development field. "My tasks were interesting and the product development team very inspiring."

The next International Trainee Program "Inspired" application period will open in January 2019 via our open positions.
