HKScan as an investment

We are the leading Nordic food company with over a hundred years’ experience in responsible meat production and processing of high-class raw materials. Our team of approximately 7,300 professionals is committed to serving the world’s most demanding consumers and making their daily lives tastier.

We sell, market and produce high-quality, responsibly produced pork, beef, poultry and lamb as well as meat products such as meals and cold cuts. Our widely recognised iconic brands include HK®, Scan®, Rakvere®, Kariniemen®, Rose® and Tallegg®.

We serve customers in the retail, food service, industrial and export sectors. Our home market comprises Finland, Sweden, Denmark and the Baltics. We also export to nearly 50 countries.

We are committed to high standards of economic, social and environmental responsibility as well as animal health and welfare both in our strategy and operations. Our offering comes with a promise of tasty food and Nordic purity, quality and responsibility. This promise covers the entire meat value chain and everyone involved in the process – from farm to fork.

HKScan’s From Farm to Fork strategy and relating strategic focus areas were launched in August 2017. The five focus areas are

  • focus on meat,
  • leadership in poultry,
  • continue growing the meals business,
  • cooperate with our farming community and
  • drive efficiency and cost-competitiveness.

In order to secure and speed up the turnaround process, the Group’s strategy execution was kicked off simultaneously in all strategic focus areas in autumn 2017.

We aim to expand our playing field to reach a leading market position and presence in key sales channels in our Nordic home markets and develop international growth avenues with a focus on Asia. We serve the world’s most demanding fork and focus on implementing our From Farm to Fork strategy in all five focus areas.

HKScan’s own consumer and market research, combined with close cooperation with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders, helps us to predict the developments in consumer behaviour, food retail, the food industry and the food service sector. Deep consumer and customer insight allows us to develop interesting and commercially successful product offerings.

HKScan’s strengths include strong brands, a leading market position in all home markets and an excellent geographical location which brings operational synergies.

We are committed to high standards of economic, social and environmental responsibility as well as animal health and welfare both in our strategy and operations. Our offering comes with a promise of tasty food and Nordic purity, quality and responsibility.

Our largest shareholders are strongly committed to HKScan’s From Farm to Fork strategy, supporting the long-term development of the company.
