HKScan’s familiar brands and great-tasting food have been an important part of Northern Europeans’ food moments for over a hundred years. Now we all need to pull together so that we can continue to enjoy local food for the next hundred years.
HKScan has set the goal of carbon neutrality of its own industrial production by the end of 2025 and carbon neutrality of the entire food chain from farms to consumers by the end of 2040 at the latest. Climate work is carried out in all our home market areas in Finland, Sweden, the Baltics and Denmark.
In line with our strategy, we are growing into a versatile food company. New Via Kasvimaa products are ready-to-use, with fresh peeled and chopped vegetables, fresh herbs and spices with higher value-added.
Sustainalytics rates HKScan in the top 8 per cent of nearly 600 international food companies in terms of responsibility risk management (our ranking is 43rd out of 579 companies assessed). Among packaged food producers, HKScan is ranked in the top 4 per cent (11/338). Sustainalytics’ latest ESG assessment of HKScan was published in September 2022.
The new HKScan-led partnership network aims to create operating models that will strengthen the responsibility and transparency in the food chain.
