Strong commitment to climate work

HKScan is committed to the UN Global Compact sustainability initiative. We also promote the targets of the UN’s sustainable development as part of our responsibility programme.

HKScan was among the first Nordic food companies to specify near-term targets for both industrial energy and the land use sector (Forest, Land and Agriculture = FLAG).  In December 2023, we received SBTi approval for our climate targets of near-term and land-based emissions.

Our new climate target is to achieve net zero for all greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. With our revised emissions calculation and climate target, we contribute to the goals of the Paris Agreement and also meet the new requirements for the land use sector.
